A Very POLISHED Party

Written by Emma Davis

Last night the POLISHED team, friends, and followers celebrated the release of the latest print issue with a party. The Spring/Summer 2017 issue’s feminine, pastel color scheme was used as inspiration for the partys decorations… and its delicious cake.

In another ode to the issue’s editorial spread, the styling team repurposed the shoot’s signature wigs for guest’s photo-ops. The silver-blonde bobs had every guest in attendance questioning whether or not they should get bangs.

Some other accessories, like the white and lavender afros and fun props, simply made for cute photos to remember the night by.

But amongst all the laughs and silly selfies, the guests at this POLISHED party debuted some SERIOUS style.

Some kept it casual; one POLISHED blog writer added stripes, a bright bandana, and a colored lip to her laid-back black jeans and cardigan combo.

From snakeskin booties, vans, to platform espadrilles, all the current footwear trends were covered.

Amy Macdonald, POLISHED Media Director, mixed lengths and mesh to create this whimsical layered look. Her necklace adds an edge to an otherwise soft style.

Another POLISHED blogger debuted a mix of hard and soft elements in her look; Her black mesh skirt gave out mega Black-Swan vibes, and the addition of an embellished leather jacket and body chain completed her rockstar ensemble.

Spirits were high with fun fashion and photos, but the true joy of the night came from celebrating the accomplishments of the creative and hard-working POLISHED team. It takes lots of talent and teamwork to create and promote an outstanding issue each semester, but the POLISHED team continues to make it happen. Congratulations to all POLISHED members on another beautiful issue. If you haven’t yet, be sure to get your copy of the latest issue!
