Hightower on Top

“To me it’s not about glitz and glam it’s about technique and showmanship”

– DaShaun Hightower

Lasell College alumni DaShaun Hightower is a dreamer and an achiever. He had never thought becoming big in the industry of fashion would happen to him as fast as it did. Hightower, who is from the little town of New Britain, Connecticut, has made quite the name for himself. Hightower is a fashion designer who has been featured in many well known publications, including Girl Mag and I-d. Luckily for POLISHED, we had the opportunity to feature some of his designs in our Spring/Summer 2017 issue.

Hightower was not always the front man for the glorious pieces he is now known for; he worked in the background for a while. He did not get his name until later laid off by corporate America. Slowly but steadily Hightower pushed his designs out to the public, and like a ripple in the water, his vision spread. Expanding on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, Hightower was able to showcase his pieces to the world.

Hightower is all about expression and telling a story through a garment. His role models Viktor & Rolf were iconic for telling a story through each stitch, and Hightower took inspiration from them. Hightower continues to show the world that fashion is not about the show, but about dedication, time, and effort.

Thank you to DeShaun Hightower for working with POLISHED!
