In the new age of technology and social media, people are always looking for the perfect photo opportunity to achieve their desired “aesthetic.” Cities such as Boston are filled with amazing architecture, coffee shops, and endless areas for that perfect Instagram post. Located right across from the infamous Harvard Yard, Tatte Bakery is “The Spot” for aspiring photographers or anyone who wants to post pictures of green colored drinks and extravagant looking pastries. The walls and decor of Tatte are monochromatic, but the atmosphere is full of life and color. Tourists (and even native Bostonians) from every walk of life come to Tatte Bakery for delicious food and crazy-flavored lattes but stay for the fast-paced, homey feel. One step into the building, and it already feels like you just entered someone’s extremely busy, kitchen. There’s a reason why Tatte Bakery has over 5,000 tagged posts on Instagram- the entire place is a sweets-loving, aesthetic junkie’s dream. Take a look at the menu here and prepare for ultimate trendy status.

The best cookies in Cambridge! Insomnia Cookies is perfect for those late night sweet tooth cravings because the store is actually open until 3 AM. Not only is Insomnia convenient, but the cookies look and taste like every highly edited picture of a cookie on every ad ever. From traditional cookies to cookies with insane flavors like Pumpkin S’mores, Insomnia Cookies has something for everyone in the friend group. Not to mention, the actual inside of the cookie shop is plastered with purple and blue hues- to give it the “night-time” effect that Insomnia is trying to advertise. So, might as well stop and grab a cookie while using Insomnia’s color scheme as a backdrop for every picture taken that day.
Out of all the spots around the city, Harvard Square is probably one of my favorite places to escape to on the weekends. Every nook of the area has something for every type of person. The people there are definitely bolder than most. There is art on every corner, an endless amount of bookshops, and so much food that you can have a full day’s worth of meals in under an hour. Next time you want to venture into the Boston area, but don’t want to spend the day at all the tourist spots, definitely keep Harvard Square in mind! The vibe of the entire square is definitely one that will leave you happier and without regrets.
