Places To Go: Lookout Farm

Strolling through the orchards of Lookout Farm was how I spent my Saturday afternoon. The beautiful trees and vines submerged the farm making it look like a fairytale. Lookout Farm has become one of the oldest working farms in the country, giving off an old and homey vibe which made me fall in love with the farm even more.

Believe it or not, you don’t need to come to this farm being an apple lover. They sell their famous apple cider donuts, along with hot cider for a perfect afternoon snack. They also grow peaches, pears, and strawberries at different times of the year.

In April of 2015, Lookout Farm Hard Cider Co. was born, the employees enjoy crafting beer if you are looking for something refreshing. The lookout taproom is also another fun option the farm offers. The taproom has a variety of their farm-inspired craft ciders and beers, letting adults taste their delicious blends. You can go relax in their refurbished fruit stand market with an attached greenhouse, patio and stone fireplace; sticking to their old, cozy feel. The taproom is not just for adults, but for all family members by selling food and having live entertainment making it enjoyable for everyone.

This day trip is amazing on a chilly fall day, if you go with a group of your friends or even just one person, you won’t be disappointed. The farm is huge and it gives people options for things to do. There’s a train ride that picks you up and brings you through the different sections of the orchards and a corn maze making it entertaining for all ages. On the way out, they have a bar that has beer and food; you will definitely not leave the farm with an empty stomach. If you are looking to get some great apples and some comfort food, this farm is the place to go. The atmosphere is beautiful; everyone leaves with a smile.
