As the bleakness of another New England Winter begins to melt away with more frequent radiant days, here at POLISHED we begin to daydream about wardrobes that don’t involve head-to-toe coverage. Our team has compiled a lookbook of trends bound to turn heads….
This season, denim stretches even farther than your favorite pair of Levi’s and aims to encapsulate your full wardrobe. Pair denim on denim to take a look from casual to contemporary cool. Bright whites and floral details add depth to blue hues and elevate denim from winter to spring.
Millennial Pinks + Neutrals
Look effortlessly trendy on your next vacation by donning soft colors in breezy silhouettes. Pair pink and white shades with black accessories like cat-eye sunglasses and a classic crossbody to make lighter tones appear chic.
Menswear: Warm Weather Boots
Just because winter is ending doesn’t mean your favorite boots can’t stay in rotation. Integrate a color like military green and light wash ripped jeans to transition brown and taupe Chelsea boots between seasons.
Cat Eye Sunnies
The season of music festivals and long weekends are quickly approaching. If you’re seeking a signature accessory, ditch your round aviators for a sleeker vibe – narrow cat eyes. Relive the zeitgeist of the 90’s in sophisticated frames that still feel feminine.
Upgrade your sneaker game with mirror-metallic finishes and shiny fabrics. Space-age inspired iridescent accessories will revamp girly tops and dresses to appear streetwear smart.
Race Car Streetwear
As Tommy Hilfiger has determined, race car-inspired wear isn’t going anywhere. Become inspirited by the edge of Formula 1 racing with striped pants, patchwork details, leather, and bodysuits. Pair Motorsport-like garments with sneakers for a day-to-day fashion, or throw on strappy heels to transition day-to-night.
Take a cue a la Brigitte Bardot – gingham can be worn for any occasion. We’re currently loving it in intricate crop tops and sets.
As we all know by now, lingerie is not just for the bedroom anymore. Lacey details and silky fabrics can finally see the light of day layered over light tees or tucked into high waisted jeans. Pair with colored mules to add sophistication to this sultry style.
The current pattern of the season, from bathing suits to ruffled dresses – polka dots are back. Look for smaller printed dots on ruffled tops and dresses for a fun and playful feel that still feels sexy.
Menswear: Crisp Whites and Neutrals
Pairing whites and taupes together doesn’t have to be preppy. Rock a lighter look this season paired with cool sneakers or rugged boots. Soft, neutral cardigans and sweaters stay in rotation for breezy spring and summer days.
